The Inspiring True Story of the Jordan Canal Rescue

Sometimes, the most horrible stories turn out to have a truly happy ending. This was the case with, Jordan the pup rescued from a canal in California. Jordan was cruelly thrown off a bridge to fall 30 feet into the Los Angeles River.  The Jordan canal rescue story has gone viral and touched the hearts of millions.

Thankfully, eyewitnesses spotted the crime and reported it to “Hope for Paws,” a group that helps take care of abused animals. Founder Eldad Hagar found Jordan and immediately feared the worst.

Though the pup was still alive, it could not move and was severely injured from the fall. Even worse, it was clear that poor Jordan had been brutalized by his previous owner before he was thrown off the bridge.

Beyond the injuries from the fall, Jordan was suffering from malnutrition, series infections and skin diseases, and had even had one of his paws cut off. Hagar stated that it was a “miracle” that the pup was even alive.

Jordan was quickly rushed to the hospital and treated for his injuries, including receiving a blood transfusion, a bath, and a few surgeries once he was strong enough. Unfortunately, he lost his leg but was in reasonably good health after just a few days.

It did not take long for the adorable pup to find a loving foster family. Here, he quickly showed off a loving side that helped him blend in with the family’s pair of pit bulls.

After just a few weeks, Jordan had fully physically recovered. His traumatic experience didn’t seem to faze him emotionally, as he revealed an open, happy, and playful personality. He even developed the ability to skillfully run and swim with three legs.

"Just got my pup back and he is so well behaved! These guys are awesome and went above and beyond to train my puppy. They were very quick to respond and always gave us video updates while Dobby was still with them. Highly recommend."
